Finnair: new automated bag drop in Helsinki
The increase of ’ automation ’ will offer passengers greater flexibility, but will also serve to provide a useful answer to coping with the terminal traffic spikes.
“Customers are already used to manage many phases of their journey with full autonomy. Check-in self-service mode, for example, is already used by more than 80% of the ’ Finnair customers. The new service will undoubtedly reduce customer wait times at the airport and will be helpful to speed up operations before the departure”, says Johanna Bagge, Head of Customer Service at Helsinki airport ’. “Finnair customers wishing to receive assistance will be followed by the staff of ’ check-in area. For this reason some of the traditional schools for delivery of luggage will remain in use alongside self-service.”
