Open Skies: Russian inspectors from now flying over Italy. They'll base in Ciampino.
Russian inspectors are this morning flying over Italy in accordance with the Treaty on open skies. Entered into force in 2002, counts 34 Member countries. The objective of Open Skies is to promote transparency on military activities conducted by the Member countries according to the concept of mutual aerial observation. Russian inspectors will be in Italy until next 19 February and will be based at Ciampino airport. The flights will take place along agreed routes.
