Piaggio Aerospace announced today at the international IDEX in Abu Dhabi a collaboration agreement with UTVA Avio Industrija. This Serbian company will be responsible for the production, installation and quality control for the final assembly line where the main sections of the fuselage are aligned and assembled.
Piaggio Aerospace will give two assembly stations: one will be dedicated to military aircraft, the other civil ones.
“This choice reflects the increasing commitment of the company in the context of defence and security.” Explains a note of Italian Aeronautics constructor.
The airport provided by UTVA will be produced in accordance with the existing one through a process of “reverse engineering”. L’ installation and delivery are planned for June 2015.
UTVA was selected through a rigorous selection process which involved Italian and international candidates.

Founded in 1937, UTVA is based in Panacevo, near Belgrade. Is’ one of the oldest manufacturers of airplanes and gliders and today is the only aviation industry of Serbia and Montenegro.
Has highly qualified and experienced personnel using CAD and CAM systems and machines CNC control for design, production and testing of aircraft and avionics equipment for the industry.
