AgustaWestland and Kawasaki Heavy Industries delivering the first MCH-mine to Japan 101
AgustaWestland and Kawasaki Heavy Industries they delivered to the Japan Maritime Self Defense Force the first helicopter MCH-101 equipped with l’Airborne Mine Counter Measures (AMCM). The KHI MCH-101, version built under license of AgustaWestland AW101, is an aircraft equipped with airborne mine countermeasures system An/AQS-24A and dell’Airborne Laser Mine Detection System AN/AES-1 svilppati from Northrop Grumman. Assembly, These two systems, allow for a flying platform capable of performing missions minesweepers surface-to-bottom. The development of the AW101 helicopter AMCM variant/MCH-101 was led by Kawasaki Heavy Industries acting as prime contractor with AgustaWestland which assured its technical support. KHI is responsible for systems integration project of the installation system, deployment, towing and recovery of AN/AQS-24A that is installed in the cabin of helicopter. In addition to support AgustaWestland has altered the Automatic Flight Control System (AFCS) of the aircraft to allow you to perform towing schemes coupled with the AN/AQS-24A.
