Bombardier Inc.. has event marked by you pause the program for the new business jet Learjet 85. The decision comes in light of weak demand for the aircraft and follows a review of economic and financial forecasts of Canadian aircraft manufacturer. The demand for aircraft category “light” continues to be very weak from the onset of the global financial crisis. As a result of this decision, the company has revised their budgets and announced that it will reduce its workforce by approximately 1000 units in the settlements of Querétaro, in Mexico, and Wichita, in the United States.
“Bombardier constantly monitors its product strategy and development priorities,” said Pierre Beaudoin, President and CEO of Bombardier Inc. "Because of the weakness of the market, We took the difficult decision to stop the Learjet program 85. We will focus our resources on other two new programs: the CSeries and Global 7000/8000, for which we see an impressive market potential.”
