NATO: Italia alla guida della Baltic Air Policing in Lituania

Da oggi la Task Force Air Šiauliai “Baltic Thunder” è operativa con quattro caccia intercettori e può assicurare la salvaguardia dello spazio aereo di Estonia, Lettonia e Lituania nel contesto dell’operazione NATO “Baltic Air Policing”.

Dopo l’avvicendamento col contingente spagnolo, avvenuto il 1° settembre, col quale l’Italia ha assunto la guida della missione, l’Aeronautica Militare ha raggiunto la piena capacità operativa del servizio d’allarme “scramble”, con i piloti pronti a decollare entro 15 minuti dall’attivazione.
