Alaska unveils enhanced loyalty program with Hawaiian, launches Starlink Wi-Fi
Alaska Airlines has unveiled a raft of new benefits and features alongside merger partner Hawaiian Airlines, including a new enhanced loyalty program, credit card and Starlink connectivity on future flights.
On August 20, 2025, the two US carriers announced the launch of Atmos Rewards, a loyalty program designed to enable members to choose how they earn points and status points when they fly with either Alaska Airlines or Hawaiian Airlines.
Alaska and Hawaiian declared that the new loyalty program unifies the best of Mileage Plan and Hawaiian Airlines’ HawaiianMiles in a combined platform.
Described by the partner airlines as a first for the industry, from late 2026 members will be able to earn points and status points in one of three ways – distance traveled, price paid, or segments flown.
“Atmos Rewards is more than a loyalty program – it’s a reflection of how guests travel today,” said Andrew Harrison, CCO at Alaska Airlines. “We listened to what our members value most and built a program that’s grounded in generosity, personalization and practicality. We’re putting our members in the pilot’s seat, giving them control over how they earn and redeem, while honoring the legacy and values of both Alaska and Hawaiian.”

How Atmos Rewards members can earn their points:
Distance traveled: According to Atmos, defined as passengers earning based on how far they go with one point for every mile flown. For thrifty travelers who take cross-country or international trips, this might be the best choice.
Price paid: Earn five points for every $1 spent when purchasing a flight. This includes airfare and upgrades purchased in premium cabins. For travelers flying in our premium cabins, including lie-flat suites, this might be the best choice.
Segments flown: Earn a flat 500 points for each flight segment flown. For flyers who take numerous short-distance flights, such as those between Neighbor Islands in Hawai`i or within California, this option guarantees a set number of points on every trip.
Introducing Starlink Wi-Fi on Alaska Airlines aircraft
In another major announcement, Alaska revealed that it will start to introduce Starlink Wi-Fi on all regional, narrowbody and widebody aircraft from 2026, with the upgrade expected to be completed in 2027.
Hawaiian Airlines started to roll out Starlink internet service on its flights in February 2024, becoming the first major carrier to offer Elon Musk’s satellite-based Wi-Fi.
Ben Minicucci, CEO and President of Alaska Air Group, said: “With Starlink already live on Hawaiian Airlines and installations starting this winter across Alaska’s fleet, we’re proud that we’ll offer the fastest, most reliable inflight internet in the skies – with gate-to-gate connectivity on nearly every aircraft across both airlines.”
Commenting on the partnership, Chad Gibbs, Vice President of Starlink Operations at SpaceX, said: “We’re thrilled to provide reliable high-speed internet on Alaska Airlines’ flights. From gate to gate, Alaska’s passengers will now experience the world’s best inflight connectivity.”
