Delta partners with YouTube for enhanced in-flight entertainment experience
Atlanta-based Delta Air Lines has announced a new partnership with global video-sharing platform YouTube to boost the onboard entertainment offering for passengers across its network. The partnership is aimed at bringing ad-free access to a selection of YouTube videos, podcasts, and music playlists to passengers on board Delta flights.
Additionally, members of Delta’s frequent flyer program SkyMiles who are logged in to Delta Sync Wi-Fi will be able to unlock a 14-day free preview of YouTube Premium on Delta Wi-Fi-enabled flights within the US with no form of payment required.
Delta and YouTube link up
In an announcement made on September 25, 2025, Delta and YouTube said they were teaming up to bring enhanced video and audio entertainment to Delta passengers. First announced at the CES 2025, Las Vegas, in January 2025, and now being rolled out network-wide, the partnership claims to be the first of its kind, joining a global airline with a giant media brand.
“To be rolled out across Delta’s fleet of aircraft on personal seatback screens, the new partnership brings SkyMiles Members and other customers frictionless, ad-free access to a selection of popular YouTube creators, podcasts, and music playlists onboard most flights,” said an airline statement.
Delta Air LinesDelta states it has more than 165,000 seatback screens across 930+ aircraft in its fleet, each operating with fast, free Delta Sync Wi-Fi both domestically and internationally. With this many entertainment outlets, the airline reaches more people than most other international airlines. Through the new partnership, a selection of YouTube videos, podcasts, and music playlists will be rolling out now across all seatback screens.
According to the airline, its customers will be able to enjoy a selection of podcasts and videos from popular YouTube creators. These will include artists like Mr Beast, Nick Giovanni, Kinigra Deon, Michelle Khare, Mel Robbins, Mother Goose Club, and others. There will also be access to videos covering travel and lifestyle, comedy, and culture. Additionally, passengers will be able to access YouTube Music playlists featuring music and podcasts spanning a variety of genres.
“Delta and YouTube are spotlighting creators as cultural connectors,” said an airline statement. “From food and travel influencers to lifestyle voices and storytellers, the partnership brings diverse voices on board and into the travel experience. With even more on the way, Delta’s in-flight entertainment now features fan-favorite creators, video podcasts, and kids’ content.
Delta Air Lines“This partnership was born from a simple but powerful insight: our customers love YouTube,” said Julieta McCurry, Delta’s Vice President of In-Flight Entertainment and Connectivity. “As two leaders in our respective spaces, each with a legacy of innovation and a deep commitment to serving as agents of human connection, Delta and YouTube are uniquely positioned to deliver an unmatched customer experience – one that meets you where you are and helps you discover more of your world.”
Not just seat-back entertainment
In addition to seat-back entertainment, Delta’s boarding music will now be powered by YouTube Music. “Customers will enjoy a new instrumental pop soundscape designed alongside Delta Flight Attendants to be elevated, comforting, and friendly for all ages,” added the airline.
“We’re incredibly proud to bring the best of YouTube and YouTube Premium to the Delta in-flight entertainment experience,” says Miguel Quiroga, Vice President, Product Partnerships, YouTube. “Whether it’s on TVs, phones, or now seatback screens, there are so many ways to experience YouTube’s top creators, culture-defining podcasts, and fan-favorite music content. All of which is made even better with free access to YouTube Premium, so travelers can enjoy all of YouTube and YouTube Music uninterrupted.”
Delta Air LinesAccording to Delta, this new partnership launch is part of a broader transformation that aims to “blend cutting-edge technology with meaningful collaborations to enhance how customers engage with content, both in the air and on the ground.
“Technology has the power to transform travel and create moments for our customers to enjoy the journey as much as the destination,” said Delta CEO Ed Bastian. “Whether through fast, free Wi-Fi, our industry-leading seatback screens, or any of the other personalized channels in Delta’s digital ecosystem, we’re committed to creating a seamless and enriching experience for our passengers.”
