China Eastern launches Barcelona route using A350 with special décor: pictures
On September 26, 2025, China Eastern Airlines started its new four-weekly scheduled service between Shanghai-Pudong (PVG) and Barcelona (BCN) using a specially decorated Airbus A350-900 aircraft (registration B-32FQ).
In order to mark this occasion, China Eastern Airlines and Spanish airport operator Aena held a media event at Barcelona airport in which the aircraft’s unique cabin decor was showcased.
The design depicts the works of Modernist Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí and the contemporary architecture that characterizes the Shanghai Bund at present.
AeroTime was invited onboard the aircraft to get a close look at the graphic elements through which China Eastern Airlines seeks to highlight the close link between the two cities connected by this new nonstop route.
This cabin design was unveiled in August 2025, with the aircraft in question operating routes throughout Asia.
