Etihad launches four new routes within one week, network reaches 86 destinations
In what has been described as an “unprecedented week”, Etihad Airways has launched four new routes over the course of seven days, bringing its global network to 86 destinations.
The first new route was to Sumatra Indonesia on October 2, 2025, followed by Phnom Penh in Cambodia on October 3, 2025.
Then, on October 8, 2025, Etihad flew to Addis Ababa in Ethiopia, followed by Krabi in Thailand on October 9, 2025.
On October 13, 2025, Etihad confirmed that the inaugural flights to all four new destinations had sold out. Etihad Airways has launched 31 new destinations over the last 12 months.
Most recently, the carrier announced a new service to Kabul beginning in December 2025, as well as Damascus, Palma de Mallorca and Zanzibar, all of which are due to begin operations during the first half of 2026.

By launching four new routes in four different countries in just one week, we’re showing how Etihad is becoming more agile, more ambitious, and more accessible.”
He added: “These route launches demonstrate how our strategic investments in modern aircraft like the A321LR are enabling us to grow quickly and efficiently, supporting us in our mission to reach over 125 destinations by 2030, taking us beyond the borders of what people thought possible.”
Etihad said that the addition of its brand-new Airbus A321LR has facilitated the airline’s rapid network expansion.
Etihad plans to launch eight additional routes during the next two months.
