Falcon 6X: the new luxury private jet you’ll spot over London’s financial hub
Keen-eyed people in London may soon spot a new multi-million-dollar private jet flying over Canary Wharf and surrounding areas, with the Dassault Falcon 6X having been officially given full operational approval for London City Airport (LCY).
The estimated $53 million private jet can carry up to 16 passengers and travel up to 5,500 nautical miles, making a flight from Dubai, New York and Miami into London City Airport well within the aircraft’s capabilities.
The first Dassault Falcon 6X private jet was delivered in February 2024 to Take Off Aviation AG.
London’s most central airport is renowned for its steep approach and 1,508-meter short runway which limits the type of aircraft that can land, with approval from aviation regulators a must.
Dassault Aviation / M. DouhaireThere are multiple executive jet types that are already approved for landing at London City Airport, including the smaller Falcon 7X, Bombardier Global 6000 and several Embraer CitationJet aircraft.
A spokesperson for London City Airport said: “This will help meet the growing demand from both OEMs and operators for aircraft capable of meeting London City’s unique operational requirements, including its steep 5.5° approach and short runway. The Falcon 6X, with its advanced performance, quiet operation, and long-range capability, is now fully certified to operate at the airport.”
The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) in the UK were responsible for granting the Falcon 6X permission to operate at the airport.

On October 2, 2025, private jet operators Albinati Aeronautics announced its intention to fly the Dassault Falcon 6X into London City Airport.
The company declared that it had been approved to charter flights with the Falcon 6X and confirmed that an LCY operation is planned soon.

In March 2025, an Embraer E195-E2 jet, operated by Helvetic Airways on behalf of Swiss, became the largest aircraft to ever land at London City Airport.
