According to data from Flightradar24, the aircraft, registered as YL-BTA, traveled 6,342 kilometers on flight BT9802 and touched down in Riga at 09:08 local time after a seven-hour and 47-minute journey from Mirabel.
Since May 2020, airBaltic has been operating all its flights using a single aircraft type – the Airbus A220-300. According to the airline, the approach minimizes complexity and enhances efficiency provided by the aircraft.
airBaltic said the Airbus A220-300 has performed “beyond the company’s expectations”, offering improved overall performance, fuel efficiency, and convenience for passengers and staff alike.
The A220-300 provides wider seats, larger windows, increased hand luggage space in the cabin, and upgraded lavatories for passengers. Additionally, the aircraft is significantly quieter, producing half the noise footprint compared to the previous generation aircraft.
In addition, the aircraft contributes to a reduction in CO2 and NOX emissions by 25% and 50%, respectively, when compared to older aircraft and industry standards.
The airline is also gradually equipping its fleet with free SpaceX Starlink internet and plans to have all its A220-300 aircraft connected by the end of 2025.
airBaltic first launched in-flight internet on one of its Airbus A220-300 aircraft during a special event at Riga’s Airport (RIX) on February 20, 2025. The post airBaltic receives 51st Airbus A220-300 in Riga: pictures appeared first on AeroTime.
