Air Tahiti Nui and Air Tahiti launch codeshare for Bora Bora, Rarotonga routes
Air Tahiti Nui and Air Tahiti have signed a codeshare agreement that will simplify travel to popular destinations in French Polynesia, allowing international passengers to book single tickets to Bora Bora Airport (BOB) and Rarotonga International Airport (RAR).
The agreement, signed on December 22, 2025, will take effect for reservations and travel starting June 2, 2026.
Under the arrangement, Air Tahiti Nui will apply its TN code to select flights operated by Air Tahiti, enabling visitors to purchase one ticket covering their entire journey from Europe or the United States to their final island destination.
The codeshare will initially apply to two routes: Bora Bora, with six daily flights operated on ATR72 aircraft, and Rarotonga in the Cook Islands, with two weekly flights also on ATR72s.Air Tahiti Nui operates its international flights exclusively with Boeing 787-9 aircraft.
“By connecting our networks, we will offer our customers a more seamless experience with a single ticket to their final destination,” said Philippe Marie, CEO of Air Tahiti Nui. “This is a crucial first step in strengthening our joint offering with Air Tahiti, which we intend to expand with new routes soon.”
Edouard Wong Fat, CEO of Air Tahiti, emphasized the natural partnership between the two carriers.
“We are proud to see Air Tahiti flights operated under a codeshare agreement with Air Tahiti Nui,” he said. “This new partnership reinforces the strong and natural ties that unite our two airlines.”
Air Tahiti, based at Tahiti-Faa’a International Airport, has operated as French Polynesia’s leading inter-island carrier for 65 years. The airline serves 48 islands across a territory as vast as Europe or North America, with distances between islands ranging from 15 kilometers to 1,600 kilometers. The carrier operates a fleet of 10 ATR 72-600 and two ATR 42-600 aircraft, with plans to introduce an all-business class option starting December 2026.
Air Tahiti currently offers economy and premium class service, connecting more than 90% of French Polynesia’s inhabited islands across five archipelagos.
