European Flyers Invests More Than €7 Million in the Acquisition of 12 Tecnam Aircraft to Lead Sustainable Aviation Training in Spain
The agreement, signed at the AERO Friedrichshafen trade fair (Germany), includes the purchase of a dozen Tecnam P2010 TDI aircraft. The deal reflects a dual strategy: to equip students with the most advanced technology on the market and to move towards full decarbonisation by 2050.
CAPUA, Italy – April 28, 2026 – Following the highly successful AERO Friedrichshafen exhibition, Tecnam is proud to announce a monumental new partnership with Spain’s leading pilot training provider, European Flyers. During a special signing ceremony at the trade fair, European Flyers finalized an agreement investing more than €7 million to acquire a fleet of twelve (12) Tecnam P2010 TDI aircraft.
This major fleet expansion reflects European Flyers’ clear dual strategy: ensuring its student pilots are trained on the most advanced, modern technology available on the market, while aggressively driving the academy’s transition towards full decarbonization by the year 2050.
Sustainable and Advanced Training The Tecnam P2010 TDI is perfectly tailored to meet these ambitious goals. Powered by the highly efficient Continental CD-170 diesel engine, the aircraft offers a drastic reduction in both fuel consumption and CO2 emissions compared to legacy AvGas-powered trainers. Combined with state-of-the-art Garmin avionics and a spacious, composite airframe, the P2010 TDI delivers an unparalleled, modern flight deck experience that directly prepares students for commercial airline environments.
“We are very pleased to conclude this agreement at a globally renowned event such as Aero Friedrichshafen,” said Luis Miñano, Managing Director of European Flyers. “An investment of this scale reflects European Flyers’ ambition to provide its students with the most advanced technology on the market and to strengthen our leadership in aviation training in Spain.”
Walter Da Costa, Tecnam’s Chief Sales Officer, added: “We are incredibly proud to partner with European Flyers on this historic €7 million investment. Their commitment to sustainability and technological excellence perfectly aligns with Tecnam’s vision for the future of flight training. The P2010 TDI is the ideal aircraft to support their ambitious decarbonization goals while providing their students with a safe, world-class training environment.”
Tradition, innovation and vision. These factors are taking Tecnam to new horizons. Based on recent data and industry benchmarks, Tecnam offers the greenest training fleet in the world. Flight schools using Tecnam’s single and twin engine fleet can save up to 10 tonnes of CO2 emissions for each student who completes a Commercial Pilot Licence – a 60% reduction compared to a fleet using 100LL fuel across 155 flight hours, including 30 hours in a twin (www.Tecnam.com/soar-greener).
