Inselflieger Takes Delivery of Its Second Tecnam P2012 STOL to Boost East Frisian Island Connectivity

Following a warm market acceptance, flawless integration and exceptional performance of its first aircraft, FLN FRISIA-Luftverkehr GmbH Norddeich welcomes its second P2012 STOL as the next step in modernizing its island-hopping fleet around the Tecnam P2012 STOL platform.
CAPUA, Italy / NORDDEICH, Germany – June 5, 2026 – Tecnam is thrilled to announce that FLN FRISIA-Luftverkehr GmbH Norddeich (Inselflieger) has officially taken delivery of its second Tecnam P2012 STOL aircraft. This latest acquisition comes as a direct result of the outstanding operational success and passenger satisfaction achieved following the delivery of their first P2012 STOL in April 2025.
Inselflieger, the region’s largest provider of air services, transports approximately just over 70,000 passengers annually between the German mainland and the East Frisian Islands. The challenging short runways of these island destinations require exceptional Short Takeoff and Landing (STOL) capabilities and the P2012 STOL has proven to be the ideal, innovative, modern response to this challenging environment.
When Inselflieger took delivery of its first P2012 STOL last year, it aimed to bring modern comfort, increased capacity, and enhanced safety to these vital regional routes. The aircraft not only met but exceeded expectations, seamlessly integrating into their operations and proving highly reliable in demanding coastal weather environments. Driven by this success, the airline has now doubled down on the Tecnam platform with this second delivery.
“When we took delivery of our first P2012 STOL, we noted that once integration was successful, we saw significant potential for the future,” stated Bruno Warkentin, Nominated Person Continuing Airworthiness at Inselflieger. “Today, we are making good on that promise. The P2012 STOL has proven to be an incredibly robust, efficient, and passenger-friendly aircraft. Our pilots love the advanced avionics, and our customers immediately notice the new level of comfort and cabin space. Just as important, Tecnam has consistently taken us seriously as an operator and we are genuinely impressed by the level of support we receive throughout this programme. Bringing this second aircraft into service is the natural next step in modernizing our fleet and ensuring we provide the best possible service to the Frisian islands.”
The Tecnam P2012 STOL offers twin-engine reliability, a spacious nine-passenger cabin with premium amenities, and the unique ability to operate from the shortest and most demanding commercial runways in the world.
“There is no greater compliment for an aircraft manufacturer than the confirmation of an option with a second order from an operator who flies in highly demanding operational and environmental conditions” said Francesco Sferra, Tecnam P2012 – Special Mission Platforms Sales & Business Development Manager. “Inselflieger operates in a uniquely challenging environment where dispatch reliability, short turnaround time, and short-field performance are absolutely critical. With the P2012 STOL not only we grant the mission accomplishment from the operational point of view, but we also achieve these results in a more comfortable, modern and safe way for the end users. We are incredibly proud that the P2012 has delivered on all fronts, and we look forward to continuing our strong partnership with the FLN team as they expand their modern fleet.”
The second P2012 STOL will allow Inselflieger to further optimize scheduling, modernize the island-hopping experience, and ensure consistent, comfortable travel for both island residents and visitors.
