Riyadh Air shares photos of first Airbus A321neo during final assembly
Riyadh Air has shared a series of photos of its first upcoming Airbus A321neo during final assembly at the planemaker’s Hamburg facility in Germany.
While the summer months were very much about the arrival of Riyadh Air’s first batch of Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners, attention now starts to turn to the smallest member of its growing fleet.
On September 2, 2026, Riyadh Air opted to ramp up the excitement, posting two pictures of its new single-aisle jet undergoing completion work.
In the two snaps, the A321neo is pictured with its tail painted in the now famous Riyadh Air colors, surrounded by Airbus equipment.

The aircraft will be powered by CFM International LEAP-1A engines. The first A321neo is expected to be delivered before the end of the year.
According to Executive Traveller, the business class cabin will feature “two-abreast premium recliners”, and there will also be a 3-3 economy cabin.

The agreement confirmed that Riyadh Air would operate a fleet mix after previously ordering Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners in 2023.
Riyadh Air’s first two Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner arrived in Saudi Arabia on June 5, 2026, after departing from Everett Paine Field (PAE).
On June 8, 2026, Riyadh Air announced that due to the arrival of its third 787-9 over a matter of days, its first full-service flight to London-Heathrow (LHR) would commence on June 10, 2026, rather than July 1, 2026.
Riyadh Air’s fleet reaches eight Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners
According to ch-aviation, Riyadh Air now operates eight 787-9 aircraft to several destinations including Dubai, Cairo, Madrid, Manchester and domestic flights to Jeddah.
Riyadh Air has also ordered 31 Airbus A350-1000s. Most recently, the airline firmed up an option for six additional Airbus A350-1000s at Farnborough Airshow.
