Boeing launches AI-powered data platform to give airlines greater fleet insight
Boeing has launched a new AI-powered aircraft data platform to give airlines and operators deeper insight into their fleet and “unlock greater value from their aviation data”.
On October 20, 2026, in conjunction with technology firm Microsoft, Boeing unveiled Dataliner, intended to help bring “fragmented data into connected, fleet-wide intelligence that supports smarter maintenance and operational decisions”.
According to Lindsey Douglas, Vice President of Cabin, Modifications, Maintenance and Digital Services at Boeing Global Services, Dataliner will enable its customers to “anticipate maintenance needs, identify emerging risks and take timely action”.
The platform brings together aviation data and AI, plus Boeing’s vast aircraft and engineering knowledge, to access more complete fleet insight rather than looking at data for each individual aircraft.
Boeing“Airlines have more data available to them than ever before, but turning that data into meaningful action remains a challenge,” Douglas said. “Dataliner is an important step in how Boeing is bringing its aircraft expertise and digital capabilities together to help customers.”
Boeing highlighted that airlines keep control over what they share via Dataliner, accessing Boeing intelligence through applications, APIs, analytics and AI-enabled experiences.
Dataliner adopts Azure AI Foundry and Microsoft’s data solutions, as well as other technologies.
“By combining Boeing’s OEM and aviation expertise with Microsoft’s trusted data and AI technologies, Dataliner gives airlines a secure, scalable foundation to turn fragmented data into fleet-wide intelligence,” Chris Barry, President of US Public Sector Industries at Microsoft, said.
Boeing cites the following as the key benefits of Dataliner to operators:
Fleet-wide intelligence: a more complete view of aircraft condition, maintenance history and operations to support better-informed decisions
Data security and governance: built-in access controls, encryption and monitoring to help protect sensitive aviation data
Data sovereignty and control: flexible, on-demand data sharing without requiring airlines to centralize their data on a single platform.
