Bombardier confirms investment announced by President Trump
On October 23. 2026, Bombardier issued a statement, providing its own update on the company’s plans in the US.
Bombardier said it is expanding its presence across the country, hiring 800 people for jobs located in its home base of Kansas as well as Texas, Indiana, and Connecticut.
Job creation in these states will be driven by infrastructure investments, which will total an estimated $270 million in the first phase.
“Our American service network is a key pillar of Bombardier’s growth strategy. This new wave of expansion and hiring reflects our long-term confidence in this market and our employees in America,” Eric Martel, President and CEO, Bombardier, said. “Based on our constructive conversations with the U.S. administration, we see a bright path forward for our highly skilled aerospace workers as well as a positive environment for Bombardier to continue pursuing direct investments to grow our American footprint.”
US President Donald Trump has announced on social media that Canadian manufacturer Bombardier is to invest $270 million in the United States (US).
In a late-night Truth Social post on October 22, 2026, President Trump heaped praise on Kansas Senator Roger Marshall and Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton for securing the deal with Bombardier.
President Trump remarked that Senator Marshall and Attorney General Paxton had done an “incredible job” in “creating thousands of American Jobs in Kansas, Texas, and Indiana”.
“Companies are coming to America, investing billions of dollars and creating jobs like never before. They know that under President Donald J. Trump, America is the place to be! We are bringing back our Jobs, our Manufacturing, and the American Dream. The Golden Age of America is here,” President Trump wrote.

The announcement came amid escalating trade tensions between the US and Canada, with both countries imposing tariffs on each other’s goods.
On October 19, 2026, at a Republican rally, President Trump appeared to row back threats against Bombardier, admitting that he “always viewed them as a Canadian company”.
“Now I find out they have a presence here, and we’re not hurting them if they’re in Kansas. So, we’ll take care of those people, all right? And the jobs,” he told the crowd.
Only last week, Bombardier announced that it was investing around $50 million in its base at Wichita, as part of the company’s “commitment to growing the site’s capabilities and positioning it for future growth”.
Bombardier has ten service and manufacturing facilities across the US, including an upcoming service center in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and employes around 3,500 US workers.
