B-2 to test GBU-57A/B Massive Ordnance Penetrator again
The U.S. Air Force is preparing to test the GBU-57A/B Massive Ordnance Penetrator from a B-2 stealth bomber at the White Sands Missile Range. This was revealed in a press release by the 96th Test Wing Public Affairs.
The 96th Test Wing said it used distributed test operations (DTO) for the testing of a laser Joint Direct Attack Munition from a F-15E. The weapon was released at Edwards AFB, California, and then transmitted back to a Boeing test team at a facility in Missouri.
The team plans to employ DTO during an upcoming test of the GBU-57A/B.
