All F-16 Block 70s will have AN/ALQ-256A(V); Taiwan is first customer
Lockheed Martin has decided that all future F-16 Block 70 fighters will be protected by the new AN/ALQ-256A(V) self-protection system made by L3Harris.
Taiwan will become the first customer to have this new system, which is an upgrade of the existing AN/ALQ-211.
The island had ordered 56 F-16Cs and 10 F-16Ds last year and those jets will start arriving home from 2023.
L3Harris is said to have made future miniaturization of the AN/ALQ-211 components and the system has proven to be working smoothly with the APG-83 radar.
