Further details on modifications to Blue Angels’ Super Hornets
WEAR TV reaches out to the U.S. Navy for more information on the modifications done to the Boeing Super Hornets for the Blue Angels team and this is what they found out.
VX-23 Flight Test Project Officer Lt. Sean Cawley says the rear cockpit displays have been modified so that civilians on rides will not get to see classified information.
The undercarriage is modified so that it could be lowered at speed up to 300 KCAS (knots-calibrated air speed) and increased g-load.
The ILS navigation system will be installed so that the jets can land safely at civilian airports.
