Porter Airlines launches new nonstop route between Montreal and Vancouver
Porter Airlines is launching its new scheduled route between Montréal–Trudeau International Airport (YUL), Québec, to Vancouver International Airport (YVR), British Columbia, on April 12, 2024.
This is not the longest route in Porter Airlines’ network, as the carrier already operates flights to Vancouver and Victoria (YYJ) from Toronto-Pearson (YYZ). However, this is its first service linking Montréal and Canada’s West Coast nonstop.
Porter will operate the new daily service with one of its new Embraer E195 E2 aircraft.
In Montréal, passengers incoming from Vancouver will be able to connect to a number of Air Transat long haul destinations, thanks to the joint venture that Porter Airlines signed with Transat in November 2023.
Throughout 2024, Porter Airlines’ will continue with its westward expansion, with new routes to Edmonton (YEG) and Calgary (YYC) from Montréal being next in line. In this way, Porter Airlines will gradually move away from its role as a ‘boutique’ regional carrier to become a nationwide operator in Canada.
