Scoot to welcome third and fourth Embraer E190-E2 alongside new routes
Low-cost carrier Scoot announced that it will receive its third and fourth Embraer E190-E2 aircraft in Singapore in September and October 2024, respectively.
With the addition of the new aircraft, Scoot said it will launch flight services to two new Southeast Asian destinations: Kertajati International Airport (KJT) in Indonesia and Malacca International Airport (MKZ) in Malaysia.
Flights to Kertajati will commence on September 28, 2024, at twice-weekly frequency, while Malacca will be served five-times weekly from October 23, 2024.

Flights commence from Sept 2024. pic.twitter.com/MLVi1C2YNt— FlyScoot (@flyscoot) August 6, 2024Scoot also announced that the two new aircraft already have names, with the third E190-E2 named ‘Jalan-Jalan’, which translates to “take a walk” in Indonesian, and the fourth will be named ‘Travel Kaki’, meaning “travel feet” or “travel buddy”.
Aside from the two new destinations, Scoot will also be deploying the E190-E2s on some existing services.
This includes twice weekly flights to Sultan Syarif Kasim II International Airport (PKU) in Pekanbaru, Indonesia on the E190-E2s in addition to its thrice-weekly flights on the Airbus A320 aircraft.
The airline will also increase flight frequencies from three to four-times-weekly to Sultan Aji Muhammad Sulaiman Sepinggan International Airport (BPN) in Balikpapan, Indonesia and Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport (UPG) in Makassar, Indonesia from October 2024.
From November 2024, the E190-E2s will also operate nine-times-weekly flights to Davao International Airport (DVO) in the Philippines, an increase from its current seven-times-weekly, and from December 2024, four-times-weekly flights to Wattay International Airport (VTE) in Vientiane, Laos, an increase from three-times-weekly.
“Since the launch of our E190-E2 aircraft in May, we continue to see strong demand for our flights, which have connected many of our customers to/from our various destinations across Southeast Asia,” Scoot CEO Leslie Thng said in a statement.
“We remain confident in the demand for air travel and invite our customers to “Jalan-Jalan” and explore new destinations with their “Travel Kakis”, immerse themselves in local cultures and create more memorable travel experiences with us,” Thng added.
