Oman Air introduces Business Studio product to replace first class
Oman Air is rebranding its premium cabin experience with the introduction of a new business class product called “Business Studio”, which will replace first class.
The new product will not involve a cabin refit, but an adjustment of some of the “soft” elements of the experience, such as the onboard service.
Oman Air’s CEO, Con Korfiatis, explained that the change was motivated by diminished demand for its traditional first class product and the need to respond to the needs of the modern traveler and align with current trends in premium travel.
The carrier will retain its current business class product as it is and will market Business Studio as an enhanced offering, but at a lower price point than first class.
By rebranding its former first class as a business class product, Oman Air will be able to position its front of the cabin as a superior product in its segment. Business Studio will feature an 82-inch seat pitch, privacy walls, à-la-carte dining and 23-inch screens.
Oman AirThe new Business Studio, which will be available on the carrier’s B787 fleet, will be deployed first on routes linking Muscat (MCT) to London (LHR) and Bangkok (BKK).
In a recent Executive Spotlight interview with AeroTime, Korfiatis hinted at the possibility of discontinuing Oman Air’s first class product since it no longer fitted the needs of the airline’s core customer base.
