Russia shoots down 144 Ukrainian drones over nine Russian regions
Russian air defense units shot down 144 drones launched by Ukraine over nine Russian regions in an overnight attack, the Russian Defense Ministry reported.
A major attack was organized on the night of September 10, 2024. Initially, Russian news agencies said that only 70 Ukrainian drones were destroyed during the overnight attack, but this information was later updated.
According to a report from the Russian news agency TASS, published on the morning of September 10, 2024, 72 drones were shot down over the Bryansk region, 20 over the Moscow region, 14 over the Kursk region, 13 over the Tula region and 25 over five other parts of the country.
“There were no casualties or destruction. Emergency and operational services are working on the ground,” Bryansk Oblast Governor Aleksandr Bogomaz wrote in a Telegram post.
Following the overnight drone attacks, at least three people were taken to the hospital and a 46-year-old woman was killed, Moscow Oblast Governor Andrei Vorobyov reported in a Telegram message. Vorobyov also reported the death of a nine-year-old child.
In Ramenskoye, a town near Moscow, drones struck two apartment buildings, causing fires, Vorobyov added. Five nearby residential buildings were evacuated.

Vnukovo International Airport (VKO) delayed three flights and four arrivals by at least an hour, while Moscow Domodedovo Airport (DME) delayed three flights, ura.ru reported.
Meanwhile, Russian forces launched an Iskander-M ballistic missile from occupied Crimea, a Kh-31P anti-radar missile from the airspace over the Black Sea, and 46 Shahed attack drones, the Ukrainian Air Force announced on September 10, 2024.
