Air Serbia welcomes third Airbus A330-200, new jet adorned in EXPO 2027 livery
Air Serbia has welcomed its third Airbus A330-200 at a special ceremony at Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport (BEG) attended by the Minister of Finance, Siniša Mali, the Minister of Economy, Adrijana Mesarović and Air Serbia CEO, Jiří Marek.
The new Airbus A330-200 arrived adorned in an EXPO 2027 livery in anticipation of the global exhibition being held in the Serbian capital between May 15, 2024, and August 15, 2027.
“The aircraft, featuring the special visual identity of EXPO 2027 will further strengthen the fleet and the long-haul operations of the Serbian national carrier,” an Air Serbia spokesperson said in a statement on October 6, 2024.
The airline added that the aircraft in its EXPO 2027 livery is a “symbol of our contribution to promoting an event of high importance for Serbia and the region”.
Air Serbia’s third wide-body aircraft was manufactured in 2014, has a 2-class seating configuration, with 22 seats in Business Class and 240 in Economy, Rolls-Royce engines, a 60-meter wing-span and an approximate length of 59 meters.
Air SerbiaThe new aircraft, registered OE-LAC, was previously operated by Etihad Airways and Air Belgium.
Air Serbia plans to operate the Airbus A330-200 on long-haul routes that includes Chicago, New York, Tianjin and Guangzho.
The Serbian flag carrier is expecting the arrival of its fourth Airbus A330-200 later this year, which will also carry the visual image of EXPO 2027.
In June 2024, Air Serbia completed the renewal of its regional fleet with the arrival of its tenth ATR 72-600 aircraft.
The newest ATR 72-600, registered YU-ASC, rounded off Serbian flag-carrier’s modernization and expansion process that began in January 2022.
According to ch-aviation, Air Serbia’s current active fleet consists of ten A319-100s, three A320-200s, three ATR 72-200s, ten ATR 72-600s plus the three A330-200s.
