From Greenland to Mongolia and beyond: United’s largest international expansion
United Airlines has announced the largest international expansion in its history with eight new destinations for its 2025 trans-Atlantic summer schedule.
Starting May 2025, the airline will commence the following routes:
John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK)/Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) to Nuuk International Airport (GOH) in Greenland
Tokyo Narita International Airport (NRT) to Chinggis Khaan International Airport (UBN) in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia
John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK)/Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) to Madeira Airport (FNC), Portugal
John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK)/Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) to Palermo Airport (PMO), Italy
Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) to Blaise Diagne International Airport (DSS) in Senegal
Tokyo Narita International Airport (NRT) to Kaohsiung International Airport (KHH) Taiwan
John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK)/Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) to Bilbao Airport (BIO) Spain
Tokyo Narita International Airport (NRT) to Palau International Airport (ROR)
John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK)/Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) – Faro International Airport (FAO) in Portugal
In addition to the new destinations, United is also adding the following routes:
Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) to Nice Côte d’Azur Airport (NCE)
Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) to Venice Marco Polo Airport (VCE)
John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK)/ Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) to Dubrovnik Ruđer Bošković Airport (DBV) Croatia increasing to daily flights
John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK)/Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) to Palma de Mallorca Airport (PMI), Spain increasing to 4 fights a week
“No other airline gives customers nonstop access to as many unique international destinations and experiences from the U.S. as United,” Patrick Quayle, United Airlines Senior Vice President of Global Network Planning and Alliances said in a statement.
“Our network provides the most choice and variety for our customers, whether they are looking for a relaxing seaside getaway, once-in-a-lifetime adventure travel or to explore some of the most vibrant urban escapes across the globe,” Quayle added.
All new routes are still subject to government approval.
