First Bombardier Global 8000: production of world’s fastest private jet begins
Production of the first Bombardier Global 8000, the world’s fastest private jet, has now commenced at the Canadian planemaker’s manufacturing sites in Saint-Laurent (Quebec), Red Oak (Texas) and Querétaro (Mexico).
On October 21, 2024, Bombardier confirmed that assembly of key components for the first Global 8000 production aircraft was underway, with sights locked on a launch date during the second half of 2025.
The Bombardier Global 8000 test jet continues to break records, with only the iconic Concorde having achieved faster speeds in the civil aviation sphere.
The Global 8000 can reach a speed of Mach 0.94 and fly up to 8,000 nautical miles, allowing passengers to travel even greater distances, such as from London to Perth and from Dubai to Houston.
“The manufacturing process for what will be the industry’s fastest business jet, the impressive ultra-long-range Global 8000, has begun,” said David Murray, Executive Vice President, Manufacturing, IT and Bombardier Operational Executive System. “Our engineering and production teams continue to demonstrate unmatched levels of expertise, pride and innovation, qualities that are an intrinsic part of Bombardier’s DNA. Our people’s mastery is behind the progress we are making at our production sites and underscores Bombardier’s culture of excellence, as well as our commitment to elevating the world of aviation.”

Existing customers of the Bombardier Global 7500 are being given the option to upgrade to the Global 8000.
“Our customers will soon be able to step aboard an aircraft that sets the standard as the fastest and longest-range purpose-built business aircraft in history, allowing them to reach destinations farther and faster than ever before,” added Jean-Christophe Gallagher, Executive Vice President, Aircraft Sales and Bombardier Defense.
Bombardier’s Global 7500, Global 6500 and Challenger 3500 aircraft are on display at this year’s NBAA-BACE in Las Vegas which runs from October 22 to October 24, 2024.
