This is a book that is sure to delight fans of photography and military aviation for the 90th anniversary of the French Air and Space Force.
As you probably know, the French Air and Space Force is celebrating its 90th anniversary in 2024! Such an important occasion warrants a tribute from photographer Rémy Michelin, “Air and Space artist” and the author of numerous books on the aircraft that ensure our country’s defense and security.
With this new book entitled “Carlingues”, the French photographer wanted to present “a generous composition, a different design capable of transporting you into every last corner of the cockpit, full of joys, sorrows, light, and energy.” To accomplish this, Rémy Michelin traveled to Djibouti, Mont-de-Marsan, Nancy and even Solenzara to photograph military air activities and the personnel who make them possible.
The result is a rather personal collection from those who live in close proximity to the aircraft of the French Air and Space Force: Rafale, Mirage, A-400M, and more. In other words, a book in which humans and machines are in concert and captured by the lens of an expert in the field. The result? Some superb black-and-white photographs!
