Jetstar officially launches flights from Sydney to Port Vila, Vanuatu
Jetstar Australia has officially launched non-stop flights between Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport (SYD) and Bauerfield International Airport (VLI) in Port Vila, Vanuatu.
The inaugural flight departed Sydney on December 12, 2024, at 10:20 local time. After a flight time of roughly three hours and 30 minutes, the A321neo aircraft arrived in Vanuatu at 13:50 local time.
With up to four flights a week, the low-cost carrier is set to offer more than 80,000 seats per year between the two cities.
The new service continues Jetstar’s expansion in the Pacific region, following the launch of flights from Sydney to Rarotonga International Airport (RAR) in the Cook Islands and Melbourne Airport (MEL) and Nadi International Airport (NAN) in Fiji over recent years.
“Vanuatu should be on every holidaymaker’s bucket list for its spectacular scenery, captivating island culture and range of outdoor activities,” Jenn Armor, Jetstar Executive Manager, Customer, said in a statement.
“Getting to this Pacific Island paradise is now easier and more affordable than ever with Jetstar offering the only direct flights from Sydney. The launch of new budget-friendly services to Vanuatu is part of a significant expansion of Jetstar’s network in 2024 with 14 new routes taking off – four of these launching within a fortnight this month,” Armor added.
