Kenya Airways hauls retired Boeing 737 through Nairobi to new school home
The fuselage of a retired Kenya Airways Boeing 737-700 NG has arrived at its new home after being transported on Nairobi roads to Mangu High Schoo
The Kenya Airways Boeing 737 fuselage set off from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO) on January 12, 2024, on a 30-mile journey to the school.
Kenya Airways donated the fuselage to Mangu High School as part of celebrations for the education center’s centenary milestone in education and aviation.
The revered school’s past student includes former president Mwai Kibaki and is renowned for its strong links to the aviation industry and inspirating future aviators.

“This aircraft, once soaring the skies, now begins a new chapter as a learning resource to inspire and equip future aviators, engineers, and innovator,” said Hellen Mathuka, Kenya Airways Chief Strategy and Innovation Officer.
Photos of the huge load being lifted onto the truck and transported to the school were shared online and live coverage of the journey was broadcast live on local news stations.
A special ceremony to mark the occasion was held and attended by Archbishop Rev. Philip Anyolo, Mangu Principal John Kuria, Dr. Wilfred Kiboro, Hellen Mathuka, and excited students from the school.

In 2023, Kenya Airways donated a Boeing 737-700 to Mangu High School.
