Embraer order backlog swells to record levels, 40% higher year-on-year
Brazilian aerospace developer Embraer has seen its aircraft order backlog swell to record levels, reaching a value of $26.3 billion during the final quarter in 2024.
On February 6, 2025, Embraer said the order value in 2024 was largest ever recorded by the company and represented a 40% increase in volume when compared to 2023.
As previously announced in January 2024, Embraer also delivered 206 aircraft in 2024, measured against 181 in 2023.
Individually the commercial aircraft segment reached $10.2 billion in 2024 which was 15% higher year-on-year.
Buoyed by a huge Flexjet order, announced on February 5, 2025, the executive aircraft division backlog reached $7.4 billion in 2024 which reflected a 70% increase on the previous year.
The Flexjet deal includes 182 firm orders for Phenom 300E, Praetor 500, and Praetor 600 aircraft with deliveries from 2026 to 2030, and up to 30 additional Praetor options.
In Services and Support, the backlog rose to $4.6 billion in 2024 – 50% higher year-on-year – propped by long-term contracts with Flexjet in executive aviation, and Air Serbia, LOT Polish Airlines and CommuteAir in commercial.
Finally, in Defense and Security, new orders for four C-390 Millenium and 10 A-29 Super Tucano helped see the backlog climbed to $4.2 billion in 2024 with a 67% improvement on 2023.
