Qatar Airways to add frequencies across global network as demand soars
Qatar Airways has announced a raft of additional flights to destinations across its global network to meet the soaring demand for its international services. Key cities in Africa, Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and beyond are being serviced with increased flights throughout 2025 as the Doha-based carrier continues to expand its international footprint to over 170 worldwide destinations.
In Europe, several cities will benefit from an increase in services by the airline. Amsterdam flights will increase from seven flights per week to 11, while London-Heathrow (LHR) will increase from 49 weekly flights to 56 (eight flights per day each way). Madrid in Spain will see services increase from 14 weekly flights to 17which brings the total of jointly operated flights between Qatar Airways and Oneworld partner Iberia from 21 to 24 weekly flights. Lastly, Larnaca on the Mediterranean island of Cyprus will receive ten flights per week, up from seven.
photosince / ShutterstockIn Africa and the Middle East, Dar Es Salaam-Kilimanjaro services will be increased from three weekly flights to seven, while Entebbe will increase from seven to 11 weekly services. The carrier’s Maputo/Durban flights will rise from five flights per week to daily, and Damascus in Syria, enjoying new freedoms in the post-Assad era, will see operations increase from three per week to twice daily. Tunis services will increase from 10 to 12 weekly flights. Flights to Sharjah will increase from 21 per week to 35 (five daily services in each direction).
In East Asia, flights from Doha to Tokyo-Narita Airport (NRT) will be increased from 11 weekly flights to 14.
According to the carrier, which was voted as the ‘World’s Best Airline’ by Skytrax in 2024, it is “enhancing global connectivity with additional flights to key destinations around the world. The expanded services will offer passengers greater flexibility and seamless connections, further strengthening the airline’s network of more than 170 destinations.”

Earlier in March 2025, Qatar’s national airline said it would soon place a sizeable order for wide-body jets to underpin its longer-term growth plans. “To secure the growth of tomorrow by continuing to have a very strong and the best fleet in the industry, our CEO is working on the RFP (request for proposal) with the aircraft manufacturer to place a big order soon,” Thierry Antinori told Reuters.
