BETA Technologies co-founder and CEO shows us around the CX300 ALIA aircraft
It was neither the largest nor the fastest aircraft to take part in the 2025 Paris Air Show display, but without a hint of doubt, BETA Technologies CX300 ALIA drew a considerable amount of attention.
This fully electric, conventional take-off and landing (CTOL) aircraft is one of the most promising developments in an industry that has so far struggled to match hype with tangible results.
The CX300 ALIA, however, is very real. After many months of flight tests in the US, including a passenger-carrying landing at New York’s JFK airport, BETA Technologies has taken one of its demonstrators on a European tour.
After showcasing it in Ireland, the United Kingdom and the Paris Air Show, BETA Technologies is taking the CX300 ALIA to Norway. There, over a period of six months, it will conduct an additional round of flight tests in a real operational environment by the hand of rotorcraft operator Bristow.
In the meantime, the BETA Technologies team back in the US will continue to work on the next iteration of the ALIA: its eVTOL version.
AeroTime met with BETA Technologies co-founder and CEO, Kyle Clark, at the Paris Air Show in order to learn more about the CX300 ALIA and the way it works.
Watch this video to find out what Clark told us and to catch a glimpse of the CX300 ALIA in flight, soaring above Le Bourget.
