Oman Air becomes global alliance oneworld’s 15th member airline
On June 30, 2025, Oman Air became the 15th member airline of the oneworld global airline alliance. The Middle Eastern carrier joins the alliance with the aim of ‘strengthening the alliance’s presence across the Middle East and unlocking new opportunities for global travel,” said a oneworld statement. From July 1, 2025, oneworld customers will be able to access an extended network of destinations across Oman Air’s growing global schedule, which includes the launch of new non-stop Muscat to Amsterdam services.
As a full oneworld member airline, Oman Air will provide oneworld frequent flyer members with additional benefits, including earning and redeeming miles, earning status points, priority check-in and boarding, and lounge access. Likewise, Oman Air’s top-tier loyalty customers will gain access to oneworld priority benefits, including a network of nearly 700 premium airport lounges globally, as well as newly opened oneworld lounges in Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport (AMS) as well as Seoul’s Incheon Airport (ICN).
“Oman Air is honoured to be joining the oneworld alliance, whose members and global footprint represent the best of what international travellers want to experience,” said Con Korfiatis, CEO of Oman Air. “We are thrilled to be able to welcome oneworld customers to the Sultanate of Oman to experience our unique culture, stunning mountain excursions, beautiful beaches, and, above all, the warm hospitality of the Omani people.”

This partnership opens up exciting new connections for our customers, particularly across the Gulf and South Asia, and reinforces oneworld’s position as the premium alliance for international travellers.”
Oman Air, with its hub at Muscat International Airport, serves 42 destinations across 22 countries and territories globally, including key oneworld hubs around the world. The airline currently operates a fleet of 22 Boeing 737 narrowbodies and 11 Boeing 787 Dreamliners (Although three are currently leased out to Riyadh Air and Qatar Airways). Oman Air began operations in 1993 and was initially founded to serve important domestic routes within the Sultanate of Oman.
The airline had originally been due to join the oneworld alliance in 2024, as announced back in June 2022. Originally, the news was announced at IATA’s 78th Annual General Meeting in Doha in 2022, where the Muscat-based airline was elected as a oneworld member designated by the oneworld governing board, comprising the chief executives of all oneworld member airlines. Qatar Airways, which joined oneworld in 2013, has acted as Oman Air’s sponsor, providing the airline with guidance and support as it has been integrated into the alliance.

Oman Air will add new destinations to the oneworld network, including Duqm and Khasab in Oman and Chittagong (Bangladesh). Oneworld Emerald, oneworld Sapphire, and premium cabin customers will also gain access to three Oman Air lounges at Muscat, Salalah, and Bangkok.
Oneworld brings together 15 airlines (Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Fiji Airways, Finnair, Iberia, Japan Airlines, Malaysia Airlines, Oman Air, Qantas, Qatar Airways, Royal Air Maroc, Royal Jordanian, and SriLankan Airlines), and more than 20 of their affiliates.
