Korean Air unveils new Premium Economy cabin for long-haul fleet
Korean Air has unveiled the Premium Economy seats it will offer on its Boeing 777-300ER fleet, starting from mid-September 2025.
The introduction of this new cabin was first announced during an event in March 2025, where the airline also unveiled its new livery. However, no specific details were disclosed at the time.
Korean Air is using the thorough retrofit of its Boeing 777-300ER fleet, a project into which the airline has invested KRW 300 billion (around US$215 million), in order to equip 11 of them with the new Premium Economy cabin.
These aircraft will feature 40 Premium Economy seats in a 2-4-2 layout. These seats will offer 39 to 41 inches of pitch, approximately 50% more space than standard economy class seats and a recline of up to 130 degrees. They will also include some ergonomic features such as footrests and headrests.
The seats are also equipped with 15.6-inch 4K resolution screens, which are larger than those available on the airline’s legacy business class cabin.
Other distinctive service elements will include an upgraded meal and drinks service, similar to that of Prestige Class (Korean Air’s business class) as well as priority check-in counters, baggage handling and boarding.
Korean Air is planning to price these at around 110% compared to the standard economy class fares available on the same flight.
The airline is also adding its “Prestige Suites 2.0”, which entered service in 2024 on the airline’s B787 fleet, to its B777-300ER aircraft. The post Korean Air unveils new Premium Economy cabin for long-haul fleet appeared first on AeroTime.
