ACMI carrier KlasJet receives approval to operate in Saudi Arabia
KlasJet, part of the Avia Solutions Group (ASG) family of ACMI airlines, has announced that it will be expanding its operations in the Middle East. The company has just received approval from the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) in Saudi Arabia to operate domestic and international flights from the Kingdom.
Vilnius, Lithuania-based KlasJet is a well-known exclusive private and corporate jet charter company that is embarking on an expansion plan to cater to the growing demand for exclusive private and corporate air travel in the Middle East region. That plan will see one of the carrier’s Boeing 737 aircraft being based in Saudi Arabia, joining another 737 aircraft configured with just 68 seats currently based in Dubai.
With the Middle East being one of the fastest-growing business aviation markets in the world, KlasJet is expanding to take full advantage of the opportunity that the rising demand for VIP air travel presents.
“One of our main long-term strategic goals at KlasJet is to cater to a variety of regions worldwide,” said Justinas Bulka, CEO at KlasJet. “Being able to provide services in two countries in the Middle East region will make us even more attractive to possible future partners.”
“We are confident in delivering an all-encompassing experience that surpasses our clients’ expectations while paying attention to even the smallest details, both inside and outside the private jet. Everyone choosing KlasJet is getting a personalized and exceptional travel experience,” he added.
The aircraft being added to KlasJet’s Middle East operation will be operated by Horizon Aviation on an ACMI basis from the Lithuanian carrier. Currently, KlasJet operates a 14-aircraft fleet consisting of five Classic Boeing 737s and one BBJ Boeing 737 with capacities ranging from 23 to 68 seats.
In addition, eight Boeing 737-800s with a capacity of 186 to 189 passengers are offered by the company for ACMI leasing to other airlines when they require either additional or substitute capacity.
According to KlasJet, the company saw twice as many orders for its services in the summer of 2023 than in the same period in 2022. With its continued expansion plans in the Middle East along with soaring demand for VIP air travel both in that region and further afield, the company will be hoping to continue on its upward trajectory through 2024 and beyond.
ASG is the world’s largest ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance, and Insurance) provider with a fleet of 212 aircraft and employing 11,700 staff. The company has several airlines under its umbrella including SmartLynx Airlines, Avion Express, AirExplore, Magma Aviation, and KlasJet. It also operates BBN Airlines Indonesia, BBN Airlines in Thailand, and has just acquired Skytrans in Australia extending ASG’s global reach even further.
