Air Canada expands summer 2026 schedule with five new European routes
Air Canada has unveiled a major expansion of its summer 2026 transatlantic schedule, adding five new routes across Europe and the Atlantic from its Toronto, Montreal, and Halifax hubs.
The carrier will launch nonstop service from Montreal-Trudeau International Airport (YUL) to Berlin Airport (BER) three times weekly and to Nantes Atlantique Airport (NTE) in France, also three times per week.
From Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ), Air Canada will introduce flights to Ponta Delgada Airport (PDL) in Portugal’s Azores archipelago. Halifax Stanfield International Airport (YHZ) will gain its second international destination with new service to Brussels Airport (BRU), operating three times weekly.
Additionally, the airline will resume its seasonal Montreal-Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion International Airport (TLV) route for summer 2026.
“Air Canada is further expanding its comprehensive transatlantic network to offer customers even more exciting destinations to explore,” said Mark Galardo, Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer, and President of Cargo.
“We are strategically increasing new non-stop routes across Europe to bring convenient access to key destinations, while strengthening economic ties and supporting tourism,” Galardo added.

Route details
The Montreal-Berlin service will be operated using Air Canada’s newest aircraft, the Airbus A321XLR, featuring lie-flat Business Class seats and Economy cabins.
Flights to Nantes will provide travelers with access to France’s Loire Valley region and will be operated on narrowbody aircraft with Premium and Economy cabins.
The new Toronto-Ponta Delgada route reflects strong cultural ties between Canada and Portugal, bringing non-stop access to São Miguel Island. The service will operate three times weekly. Ponta Delgada becomes Air Canada’s third destination in Portugal.
Halifax-Brussels flights will also run three times a week. Brussels serves as a gateway to Europe and Africa through Air Canada’s Star Alliance partner, Brussels Airlines. The Belgian capital becomes the second international destination served from Halifax, joining London-Heathrow (LHR).
Air Canada also connects Halifax to major Canadian cities including Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver, and Ottawa, along with transborder service to Boston and Newark.
The resumed Montreal-Tel Aviv seasonal service will be operated on Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft, complementing the airline’s existing Toronto-Tel Aviv route. The announcement builds on Air Canada’s previously announced summer 2026 international expansion, which includes new services to Palma de Mallorca and Catania, Sicily, from Montreal, Shanghai and Budapest from Toronto, and year-round Bangkok service from Vancouver.
