AirAsia dares Aussies to fly somewhere new with ‘Barter For Better’ promotion
AirAsia is encouraging Australian travelers to explore new places by holding a promotional campaign where existing flight tickets are ‘swapped’ for a different destination.
On October 19, 2024, the low-cost carrier will be at Sydney’s Westfield Chatswood Shopping Center from 11:00 to 17:00 local time, on the lookout for people holding existing international flight bookings.
Those who do may have the chance to fly somewhere different across Asia or beyond on AirAsia’s network.
AirAsia Aviation Group’s Chief Commercial Officer Paul Carroll said that the airline is aware that Australian tourists have ‘fan favorite’ holiday places like Bali and Phuket, but would like to encourage other lesser-known destinations in its network.
“Asia is popular as an affordable destination for everyone wanting to still go overseas on a budget which AirAsia supports through great value fares,” Carroll said in a statement.
“Through this unique campaign, we want to show that there is much more to Asia and so many undiscovered gems across our network of over 130 destinations for people to try something new and go somewhere different,” Carroll added.
Those without existing international tickets also have chances to win travel prizes such as gift cards from Klook and AirAsia merchandise.
The unique marketing event is part of AirAsia’s ‘Go Somewhere Different’ campaign, which features Asia’s hidden gems that the majority of Australian travelers are unaware of.
