Airbus introduces Buraq Air as new A320neo family customer with 10 jet deal
Buraq Air has become the latest A320neo family customer after signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Airbus for 10 jets at the Dubai Airshow.
The agreement was signed on November 19, 2025, by Fouzi Almiqalh, General Assembly President of Buraq Air and Benoit de Saint-Exupéry, Airbus EVP Sales of the Commercial Aircraft business.
According to ch-aviation, the Libyan carrier’s current fleet includes three A320-200s previously operated by Cebu Pacific Air and owned by AFG Aviation Ireland.
“This agreement represents a significant step forward for Buraq Air as we continue to modernise our fleet and serve more destinations. The A320neo’s efficiency and flexibility will not only be central to strengthening our core network but will also provide a seamless platform for Medsky Airways, our key strategic partner, to jointly enhance passenger offering across both our carriers,” said Fouzi Almiqalh.
Additionally, Buraq Air, which was founded in 2020, operates a single Boeing 737-800, according to Planespotters.net.
“We are delighted to welcome Buraq Air as a new Airbus customer of the A320 Family and we thank them for their confidence. This agreement reinforces the A320neo as the aircraft of choice for fleet modernisation and we are dedicated to supporting Buraq’s Air strategic expansion plan” said Benoit de Saint-Exupéry.
At the end of October 2025, the A320neo family has won over 11,300 orders from 150 customers worldwide.
In a social media post, Airbus wrote: “Welcome to the #A320neo Family, Buraq Air! This order for 10 of the world’s most successful single-aisle aircraft marks a significant step for the airline as it continues to modernise its fleet and offer its passengers a superior comfort experience to even more destinations.”
