Airbus reveals images of stunning first class experience concept for A350-1000s
With commercial air routes getting increasingly longer with the arrival of ultra-long-haul airliners such as the Airbus A350-1000 and the forthcoming Boeing 777X series, European planemaker Airbus has taken the lead in creating concept images portraying what the first class cabins on these long-haul flights of the future might look like.
Revealed as part of the company’s attendance at the Aircraft Interiors Expo 2025 (AIX) being held in Hamburg between April 8 and 10, 2025, Airbus has publicized images of its vision for what premium class travel may look like on its flagship A350-1000 which is already being used by several airlines globally for ultra-long-haul flights of over 15 hours in duration.
Presented to visitors at AIX in 3D augmented reality (AR), the images published on the Airbus website show how Airbus is further developing the A350-1000’s interior to accommodate a larger, exclusive first-class cabin, which it describes as “fitting for a flagship product.”
AirbusThe highlight of the experience on display at AIX is the display of Airbus’ first class ‘Master Suite’ which has been conceived by its in-house design team. This Master Suite, which has been designed to be located in the center of the A350-1000’s 5.61 meters (18 feet 5 inches) wide cabin between the two aisles, will accommodate two passengers with exclusive access to a dedicated lavatory, changing area, bar, and a double bed.
AirbusDiving further into the design, to enable a new ‘1-1-1’ layout, that is three suites abreast, in the A350-1000 cabin area, Airbus states that the floor area between doors one and two on the A350-1000 has been “fully maximized to dedicate as much space as possible for the new first class section.”
“In particular, floorspace which was previously taken up with various monuments, such as lavatories or stowages, is now freed up by relocating them outside of the main revenue (i.e. passenger accommodation) area in a new center module just behind door one, opposite the cockpit door,” says an Airbus statement. “Additional privacy for passengers in the suites is provided by also relocating the access stairs to the Forward Crew Rest Compartment (FCRC) in the new center module. So, there will be less disturbance from the flight crew, for example,” adds the statement.
AirbusElsewhere in the aircraft, Airbus says that the larger size and high ceilings of the A350-1000 and its Airspace cabin design make it the ideal choice for airlines to install their most premium product. “Moreover, its unique interior proportions can be further complemented by new fascia and sculptured ceiling panels which provide an even greater sense of space, as well as an integrated welcome lighting panel at door one for extra ambiance,” says Airbus.

AirbusAccording to ch-aviation, there are currently 96 A350-1000s operating with a further 226 on order. Notably, Australian airline Qantas has announced it will begin the first nonstop direct flights between Sydney and London in early 2027 using new A350-1000s under its long-awaited Project Sunrise program. With a route length great circle distance of 10,573 miles (16,917 km), the service will take full advantage of the A350-1000’s ultra-long-haul range.
