Airbus wins double-digit H125 helicopter order from US federal agency
Airbus has received a new order for H125 helicopters from US Customs and Border Protection Air and Marine Operations (CBP AMO).
On July 7, 2026, Airbus announced that US Customs and Border Protection would be adding to its existing H125 fleet with 10 additional Light Enforcement Helicopters (LEH).
“The expansion of this H125 fleet underscores the long-standing collaboration between Airbus and U.S. Customs and Border Protection,” Bart Reijnen, Head of the North America Region for Airbus Helicopters, said. “This selection highlights the trust placed in the H125 to perform critical public safety missions under demanding conditions.”
Reijnen added: “Airbus remains committed to supporting the agency with reliable aircraft and comprehensive services to ensure continuous mission readiness.”
The H125 is used by Air and Marine Operations to perform missions such as aerial patrol and surveillance of stationary or moving targets, according to CBP.
It is operated by two people with one pilot and one person operating the helicopter’s sensors to detect targets.
Called the A-Star helicopter by CBP, the H125 is also fitted with a tactical search light, electro-optical/infrared camera and night vision goggle compatible.
“The H125 light enforcement helicopter is a vital asset for airborne law enforcement operations throughout North America,” a spokesperson for Airbus Helicopters said. “Configured to operate efficiently in extreme environments, the aircraft delivers the versatility and reliability required for rigorous multi-role homeland security operations.”
In the US, the H125 is manufactured at Airbus’ manufacturing facility in Columbus, Mississippi.
