AirStart expands ATR aftermarket portfolio with acquisition of two ATR 72-212
AirStart is pleased to announce the acquisition of two ATR 72-212 aircraft (MSN 752 and MSN 775) from Aergo Capital, marking the fourth aircraft purchase from Aergo in the past 18 months. The aircraft will be dismantled in Morocco in partnership with Atlantic Air Industries Maroc (AAIM).
This strategic move reinforces AirStart’s commitment to diversifying its inventory, enhancing its share in the ATR/regional aftermarket and ensuring a steady supply of high-quality spare parts for operators worldwide.
AirStart’s Vision & Strategic Rationale
This acquisition supports AirStart’s growth and diversification strategy, ensuring a wider parts portfolio across regional fleets.
By strengthening its ATR aftermarket capabilities, AirStart is responding to growing demand for affordable, reliable spare parts in regional aviation.
AirStart reaffirms its commitment to ATR operators globally, helping airlines extend fleet life cycles, reduce costs and maintain operational reliability.
“This acquisition is another important step in AirStart’s growth story. By expanding our ATR portfolio, we are reinforcing our position as a trusted aftermarket partner and delivering greater value to our customers through reliable, diversified inventory – especially for our North American ATR customers who sometimes struggle with their supply chain.”
Rob Wills, President of AirStart
The ATR family is the world’s leading regional turboprop aircraft, with more than 1,200 in service across 200+ airlines in 100 countries. As ATRs are designed for 25+ years of operation, demand for aftermarket support and replacement parts is increasing sharply. This acquisition positions AirStart to capture a greater share in this fast-growing segment.
“We’re excited about this opportunity to work once again with Aergo and with our long-time partners at AAIM. These projects not only diversify our inventory but also provide ATR operators with timely, high-quality solutions.”
Sam Cupelli, Director of Sales & Acquisitions at AirStart
The aviation industry is strongly based on relationships.
“We are proud to continue our collaboration with AirStart.”
Aergo Capital
The dismantling begins at AAIM Morocco in October 2025. Future acquisitions will continue to expand AirStart’s role as a leading aftermarket supplier in the aviation sector.
