Airways Aviation orders five eDA40 training aircraft at close of Paris Air Show
Airways Aviation has announced the signing of a deal with Diamond Aircraft to purchase five all-electric eDA40 training aircraft, completed on the final day of the Paris Air Show 2025.
The deal was finalized on June 20, 2025, as the Paris Air Show 2025 concluded, making it one of the last agreements made during the event.
In a statement issued by Airways Aviation on LinkedIn, the company said that the agreement “reflects Airways Aviation’s continued investment in next-generation technology to deliver safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible flight training”.
“This agreement reinforces our vision to drive sustainability and innovation across all facets of aviation training,” said Romy Hawatt, Founder and Chairman of Airways Aviation. “The eDA40 represents a significant step forward in reducing carbon emissions and operational costs without compromising the high training standards we are known for.”
The eDA40 will be the first all-electric aircraft certified under EASA/FAA Part 23, designed specifically for flight training. It features an electric propulsion system, which results in a reduced noise footprint and lower direct operating costs.

Airways Aviation noted that it has maintained a longstanding relationship with Diamond Aircraft, whose aircraft make up a core part of the academy’s training fleet across multiple locations. The company added that the introduction of electric aircraft represents “the next phase” in that collaboration.
“We are excited that our long-term customer Airways Aviation has chosen to acquire the eDA40 once again at the Paris Air Show 2025,” said Jane Wang, Sales Director of Diamond Aircraft Austria. “This investment highlights our shared commitment to cutting-edge technology, sustainability in flight training, and further strengthens our strategic partnership.”
