The Aspiration for Command pathway
BA Euroflyer BA Euroflyer’s Aspiration for Command pathway is unmatched, with experienced first officers from any airline able to transition to captain within an expected timeframe of 12 months.
Joining as a Direct Entry Pilot, first officers, who have qualified with the minimum of 2,500 hours flying time, will train alongside BA Euroflyer’s own first officers on the path to becoming a captain.
Those who enter the Aspiration for Command pathway successfully are seasoned, high caliber pilots with strong leadership skills who envisage themselves leading their own aircraft with an airline like BA Euroflyer.
As well as technical training, those on the Aspiration for Command pathway will also undertake a bespoke ‘Essentials for Command’ course.
The course incorporates crew resource management (CRM), along with preparation and supportive flights led by expert trainers, to prepare trainees for the Command Course and developing the skills to lead in operations.
Successful candidates will also spend time in simulators to build on the skills honed as a first officer and further develop these towards a role as a commander.

Life as a BA Euroflyer commander
Once part of the Aspiration for Command pathway, the benefits to trainees will be immediate and will only continue to grow once fully qualified as a BA Euroflyer commander.
The starting annual salary as a first officer on theAspiration for Command pathway starts at £78,000, plus allowances of around £14,332.
On successful completion of your command course, your annual salary will increase to £115,460, plus allowances of approximately £25,148, with annual incremental pay uplifts on a 15 point pay scale.
At the point of joining the pathway also earns you a place on the ** British Airways master seniority list, allowing you in the future to bid for how you want your career to develop, whether it be training our future pilots or moving to larger aircraft on British Airways’ long-haul fleet.
You will also benefit from fully funded type rating courses with no bond attached, plus 30 days of holiday per year and of course the excellent travel concessions you would expect across the full British Airways network as well as many other airlines.
