Aviation Capital Group delivers first A220-300 to new customer ITA Airways
US-based aircraft lessor Aviation Capital Group (ACG) has delivered a new Airbus A220-300 to its new customer ITA Airways, marking the first delivery from its order of 20 A220s placed in 2022.
The aircraft is the first of five A220-300s that ACG will deliver to the Italian airline in the coming months, the lessor confirmed in a statement. It is also ACG’s first A220 to be delivered from Mirabel, Quebec, from its order with Airbus placed in February 2022.
ITA Airways now has a fleet made entirely of Airbus aircraft, featuring different models such as the A350-900, A220-300, A320neo, A330-900neo, A220-100, and A321neo.
On its official website, the carrier said it aims to have approximately 90% of its fleet composed of new-generation aircraft by 2027, with the goal of becoming the youngest airline in Europe.
“We are thrilled to welcome ITA Airways as a new customer to ACG and to support the airline’s continued transition to sustainable A220 technology for its short and medium haul network,” said Tom Baker, Chief Executive Officer and President of ACG.
Among ACG’s airline customers are major carriers such as American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Air France and Etihad Airways.
The company specializes in commercial aircraft leasing and aviation finance. In addition to aircraft leasing services, ACG provides aircraft asset management solutions.
According to KPMG’s Aviation Leaders Report 2025, ACG ranks as the 10th largest global lessor and has more than 500 owned, managed, and committed aircraft with 85 carriers. The post Aviation Capital Group delivers first A220-300 to new customer ITA Airways appeared first on AeroTime.
