Bombardier delivers 200th Global 7500 six years after its entry-into-service
Bombardier has delivered its 200th Global 7500 private jet, just six years after the executive aircraft entered service for the first time in December 2018.
The revered ultra-long-range aircraft has built a reputation as a record breaker among the business aviation community with more than 200,000 flying hours in the book.
Bombardier announced the delivery landmark on the eve of MEBAA Show 2024, at Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC) in Dubai where the world’s business aviation movers and shakers will meet for the three-day event.
“Simply put, the Global 7500 aircraft is assembled with the best manufacturing process and technological advancements in business aviation – and we are so excited and honoured to reach the 200-delivery mark of this transformative aircraft,” said David Murray, Executive Vice President, Manufacturing, IT and Bombardier Operational Excellence System.
Murray added: “This milestone also reflects the outstanding efforts of our meticulous engineering, production and assembly teams. These talented individuals are the beating heart of this program’s ultimate success and achievements.”
The Bombardier Global 7500 executive jet has broken over 75 speed world records since its inception.
Most recently Bombardier announced in November 2024, that the Global 7500 had clocked multiple new records on routes that include Miami to São Paulo, Tokyo to Los Angeles, Tokyo to San Jose and Jeddah to London.
Three of the speed records highlighted by Bombardier were a flight between Los Angeles and Auckland in 11 hours and 55 minutes, a Tokyo-Hong Kong flight in three hours and 40 minutes and New Delhi to Tokyo in just seven hours.
These accomplishments build on earlier records, including an 8,225 nautical mile flight in October 2019 from Sydney, Australia to Detroit, Michigan, the longest flight ever recorded in business aviation.
“Bombardier’s Global 7500 business jet customers recognize and appreciate the many benefits this aircraft provides – and it continues to rewrite the history books with unprecedented speed records and long-distance flights,” said Jean-Christophe Gallagher, Executive Vice President, Aircraft Sales and Bombardier Defense.
Construction of the Bombardier Global 8000 aircraft is underway at company facilities in Canada, the United States and Mexico, and the program is progressing as planned, with entry into service expected in 2025.
The Global 8000 will offer a range of 8,000 nautical miles and a top speed of Mach 0.94, making it the fastest executive jet in the world.
Bombardier and private jet operator VistaJet will be showcasing Bombardier Global 7500s at MEBAA 2024.
AeroTime is on-site and live at the MEBAA Show 2024 in Dubai. If you’re attending the event, be sure to stop by our booth #710.
