Book. “Artbook, Volume II”
For the second volume of his “Artbook”, Air & Space painter Damien Charrit continues his meticulous work depicting aeronautics. With some success…
When aesthetics meets aeronautics… Five years ago, Air and Space painter Damien Charrit promised a sequel to his highly acclaimed “Artbook”! With this second volume, he has done just that, with a genuine invitation to discover the best that aeronautics has to offer, in terms of aircraft and the techniques used to represent them.
For this work, the artist has divided the aerial portrait into eight chapters, one of which, occupying more than a third of the pages, is devoted to the French Air and Space Force. For example, and for the many fans of the Dassault galaxy, no fewer than fifteen representations of the Rafale, all versions included, are offered to readers.
In addition to Dassault aircraft, all aspects of aviation (military, civil, etc.) are covered, but with a method refined from the first volume, namely “a more intimate approach, where I share my techniques, my inspirations and my adventures in the aerial universe”, says the author.
All in “vibrant, striking” colors, as if to emphasize the smallest details of each device. In short, these are truly high-flying paintings, 120 in all, brought together in a most subtle work. You could almost call it a pocket museum, in 160 pages…
