Cirrus unveils 2026 SR Series G7+ with expanded connectivity and design updates
Cirrus Aircraft has introduced its 2026 SR Series G7+ lineup, unveiling a series of updates across the SR20, SR22, and SR22T that focus on connectivity, avionics refinement, and ownership convenience while retaining the safety systems that define the G7+ platform.
Announced on January 6, 2026, the updated models incorporate expanded Cirrus Global Connect capabilities, refreshed exterior design choices, and new hardware features, including a four-blade Hartzell composite propeller option for the SR22. All 2026 SR Series aircraft continue to include the full G7+ generational feature set, including Safe Return Emergency Autoland, Automatic Database Updates powered by Cirrus IQ PRO Advanced, Runway Occupancy Awareness, and Smart Pitot Heat.
Cirrus said the 2026 updates reflect feedback from owners and operators seeking improved connectivity and reduced cockpit workload rather than fundamental changes to performance or mission profile.
“The 2026 SR Series G7+ provides our customers with more choice, more connectivity and more pilot convenience combined with revolutionary safety systems,” Cirrus CEO Zean Nielsen said in a statement.
Expanded connectivity
A central focus of the 2026 update is connectivity. Cirrus has expanded the capabilities of its Cirrus Global Connect system, which provides integrated global weather and communications via the Iridium satellite network. The system now delivers a broader range of weather data, including storm cell movement, turbulence, icing, and surface visibility, with automatic updates every five minutes along the planned route of flight.
Cirrus also increased cabin power availability to support modern avionics and passenger devices. All 2026 SR Series aircraft now include high-power USB-C ports for every occupant, with two 60-watt ports in the front cabin and two 100-watt ports in the rear. The higher-capacity ports are designed to support power-hungry devices, including satellite connectivity hardware such as Starlink terminals when installed.
Cirrus AircraftAircraft can link to the integrated Iridium network or with owner-supplied Starlink equipment, giving operators flexibility depending on their coverage needs.
Propeller and avionics updates
The 2026 SR22 receives a notable hardware option with the introduction of a four-blade composite propeller, following earlier adoption of composite propellers on the turbocharged SR22T. The four-blade option joins the standard three-blade composite propeller and provides owners an additional configuration choice, primarily focused on ramp presence and perceived smoothness rather than performance changes.
Cirrus has also continued incremental development of its Perspective Touch+ avionics suite. Recent software updates introduce enhanced visual approach tools that allow pilots to select and display traffic pattern entries directly on the moving map, with the option to couple those procedures to the autopilot. The system also supports up to nine customizable display presets, allowing pilots to quickly switch between preferred screen layouts.
Cirrus AircraftThese avionics enhancements are available across compatible G7 and G7+ aircraft through software updates.
Design and paint options
On the outside, the 2026 SR Series G7+ introduces two new premium paint collections for Carbon and Platinum models, along with three new exterior colors: Tangerine, Maldives, and Viridian. Cirrus said the updated schemes emphasize cleaner lines and visual continuity between wings and fuselage, with distinct styling approaches for each collection.
Cirrus AircraftThe SR Series remains the best-selling high-performance single-engine piston aircraft, with more than 11,000 deliveries to date. Cirrus operates manufacturing and service facilities across multiple US locations, including Duluth, Minnesota, and Knoxville, Tennessee.
Cirrus said deliveries of 2026 SR Series G7+ aircraft will begin according to standard production schedules. The post Cirrus unveils 2026 SR Series G7+ with expanded connectivity and design updates appeared first on AeroTime.
