Dassault opens new private jet MRO facility in Brazil, capacity for Falcon 10X
Dassault Falcon Jet has opened a new maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facility at Catarina Executive International Airport (JHF) in Sao Paulo, Brazil, which itself only opened in 2019.
The new complex boasts nearly 40,000 square feet of floor and office space and can hold up to five Falcon private jets simultaneously.
The facility will also have the capacity to maintain Dassault’s ultra-long range extra widebody Falcon 10X which is currently in development.
The vast Falcon 10X is capable of flying nonstop from New York to Shanghai, Los Angeles to Sydney, Hong Kong to New York or Paris to Santiago and can carry up to 19 passengers.
The Falcon 10X was originally scheduled for release in 2025 but this has been revised for the first deliveries to take place in 2027.
The facility is qualified to handle maintenance and overhaul operations up to ‘B’ level checks for Brazilian registered Falcons in the Falcon 7X/8X and Falcon 2000 family.
It is also equipped to perform Pre-Purchase Evaluations (PPE’s) for customers considering acquiring a pre-owned Falcon.
JHF will also support an AOG ‘Go Team’ who are trained to provide rapid mobile response anywhere in South America, along with the parts and tools necessary to get a Falcon flying with minimal delay.
The private jet airport holds Repair Station certification from Brazil’s Agência Nacional de Aviação Civil (ANAC), the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), as well as from airworthiness authorities in Argentina, Bermuda and Uruguay.
It is authorized to perform line maintenance and major inspections on Falcon 50, 900 and 2000 series models, the Falcon 7X and the Falcon 8X.
A full-service battery shop can repair, replace or recharge main and emergency batteries on Falcon and other aircraft models.
In addition to airframe inspections and service, the facility can carry out engine line maintenance on the CFE-738, Honeywell TFE731 and Pratt & Whitney Canada PW307A, PW307D and PW308C models.
Dassault now has 60 service locations and 15 parts distribution centers around the world.
“For our company, after-market support is a truly vital part of the ownership experience,” Jean Kayanakis, SVP for worldwide customer service, said. “This means keeping Dassault as close as possible to its customers and offering all the services needed to maximize the up-time and value of their Falcon fleet.”
